In this days can be found various metal support structures and electrical equipment supporting the solar panels, which are mandatory part of the solar energy system. Because of diversity of the accompanying equipment we will not go into technical details. Such details you will get from the manufacturers of the equipment that you have purchased. In this article we'll give you some general recommendations on how to install solar panels and will enumerate the possible options that will help you in choosing the necessary equipment.
The photo voltaic panels usually are installed on the supporting structure of aluminum or some other material. The lead structure can be fixed or able to rotate the solar panels. Commonly is used fixed structure and panels are placed under an optimal angle, oriented towards the south. Advantage of the structure with rotation option is that the solar panels can be set at different angles, this option allows following of the movement of the sun which increases production of the electricity. There are several types of such support structures. We can divide towards the axes along which you can rotate the panel.
* Support structures with one axis rotation horizontally. In this case mounted solar panels are able to be adjusted in the north south direction from 0 to 90 degrees.
* Support structures with one axis vertical rotation. In this case solar panels can be adjusted vertically or to change their angle from 0 to 90 degrees.
* Support structures with two axis rotation. In this case the solar panels can be adjusted horizontally and vertically and it provides an opportunity to always have the optimum angle to the sun.
Clearly two axis rotation support structure is the best solution. One axis tracking is simpler and for the smaller systems from several modules can get good effect in production of the electricity if twice a day morning and at lunch make adjustments to the angle (azimuth) and once every quarter of the year make adjustments to the modules toward the south.
For details of selecting the optimum angle of the solar panel can be read here.
The rest of the equipment (DC/AC inverter, battery, distribution cables, etc.) should provide separate dry and ventilated room because batteries emit harmful gases. The cables that should be used for connection the solar panels to the rest of the equipment should be resistant to atmospheric influences (dry and wet), conditions of high temperatures and the mechanical properties to be suitable for medium to heavy mechanical loads.
On the following picture is presented one solution, unipolar scheme solar system connected to the electrical grid.
NOTE: for connecting the equipment if you do not have technical knowledge you need to consult an electrician.Electricity generated by solar panels is equally dangerous as that from the grid. We are disassociate from possible damages and injury.
