Each cleanup action is one huge step towards clean planet

We are not fooling ourselves – some more big steps need to be made to get us there.

No group, organisation or country who is able to clean Earth alone

We have arrived to a doorstep where we need to come together to pass through.

We need ecologically intelligent consumption

Each one of us can make a big difference just by becoming more aware about our choices as a consumer – to buy less, to favor products that have been produced without harming the environment and always using any chance to give new life to already used products.

We need sustainable design and production

The choices that we have are born not in the store, but in the heads of the designers and producers.

People must: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Respect yourself, enjoy and appreciate what you already have and you will discover that you don’t need that much stuff to begin with. Sometimes your old is someone else’s new and vice versa

SOLARCITY LAUNCHES NEW SERVICE THAT AIMS TO COMBINE SOLAR ENERGY WITH BATTERY STORAGE

SolarCity, a leading solar energy company, has launched a new service called GridLogic. The service is meant to "deliver and balance" energy for communities, with a focus on the microgrid. Microgrids are small-scale versions of an energy infrastructure that have specific goals, such as focusing on reliability, sustainability, and emissions reduction. GridLogic is meant to be available worldwide, helping communities take advantage of the benefits of a microgrid.

GRIDLOGIC COULD BE A BOON FOR REMOTE COMMUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD

GridLogic will combine distributed energy resources, such as rooftop and ground-mounted solar energy systems, and battery storage. SolarCity suggests that this new service will provide access to a cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive way to access electrical power. This may be particularly beneficial for communities in remote locations that have traditionally had difficulty accessing energy of any kind. The service may also benefit hospitals, military bases, and could be used in the wake of a natural disaster that has an impact on an energy infrastructure.

Solar Energy Continues To Gain Momentum In Many Parts Of The World

Solar energy is gaining more attention as a source of power for remote communities. These communities often struggle to access electrical power due to their position in the world. Island communities also have this problem, but tend to spend more for accessing the energy they need. These costs are often seen in the purchase and transportation of fuel from other parts of the world. A microgrid can help alleviate these costs and provide remote communities with a way to take advantage of solar energy.

Solar Energy And Battery Storage May Be The Way Of The Future

Combining renewable energy systems with storage solutions could help make clean power more attractive. Such solutions could generate and store their own energy for later use, which makes them quite useful in a range of applications. It is estimated that 9% of solar energy systems in North America will have their own energy storage solutions by 2018, with companies like SolarCity leading the way in the popularization of these technologies.
