CSG seeks a full time Senior Technical Support Analyst to support NYSERDA's Low-rise Residential New Construction Program.

CSG is responsible for implementing the Low-Rise Residential New Construction Programs, inclusive of the New York ENERGY STAR Homes Program, low-rise multi-family developments, gut-rehabilitation, and net-zero energy projects. These Programs focus on delivering energy efficiency, health and safety, improved comfort, and increased home value to new home buyers in New York State. This position will report to the Albany office but does not require the individual to be located in Albany.

The Senior Technical Support Analyst will provide state-wide technical expertise in energy efficient residential new construction techniques to solve the most complex issues. The Senior Technical Analyst will support Program Partners, CSG staff, and the Client in resolving technical related issues in coordination with Account Management and Program Operations, along with guidance from CSG's Applied Building Science (ABS) Group. Technical support will range from interpreting building science issues, energy modeling software support, quality control process input, and the development of trainings deemed necessary to support the Programs goals.

While this position reports to the Albany office, the Senior Technical Analyst will be expected to travel up to 20% of the time throughout New York state. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, access to reliable transportation and some overnight travel may be required as well.

Responsibilities:


*Serve as a leading technical resource in the residential new construction industry for Net-Zero or Net-Positive Energy projects.

*Solve and address the most complex technical issues identified by CSG staff, Program Partners, and the Client. Assess existing protocols for solutions and research best practices nationally by consulting with Corporate ABS team and additional national resources as necessary.

*Develop and write formal documentation, detailing appropriate protocols for resolution. Define appropriate process for field implementation and presentation to the Client.

*Conduct technical research for the Program as appropriate to define appropriate solution.

*Review, modify, and ensure quality control standards are met according to Program standards. Develop internal process for managing Quality Control. Monitors QC visits and works with the management to improve the process and document outcomes.

*Develop and deliver training on new procedures and building science concepts as needed for the residential new construction marketplace stakeholders and internal staff. Coordinate closely with Account Management staff as necessary to leverage other staff's efforts and reduce redundancy.

*Maintain an advanced and thorough understanding of energy modeling software being utilized in the Program. Be able to provide technical support to internal staff and Program Partners.

*Consult with Corporate ABS team to ensure health and safety and technical standards are met as well as participation on corporate technical working groups to learn and share best building science practices.

*Participate on regional and national industry committees and boards to stay current with industry standards and integrate into CSG programs. Review national industry publications and attend national technical conferences deemed necessary by the Client. Provide regular reports to Program Management and the Client of technical issues and resolutions as well as new technologies and how they may be incorporated into the Program.

*Assist Account Management staff on resolving outstanding Quality Assurance findings and customer concern issues.

*Provide advanced technical guidance to Program Partners on addressing program issues remotely or onsite in customer's homes. Conduct training on building science or program requirements remotely or onsite.

*Stay current on Program initiatives, policy, procedures, and propose ideas for improvement as appropriate.

Qualifications:


*BA/BS Degree in Energy, Engineering, Building Science, related field degree, or significant equivalent industry experience and certification (e.g. Passive House Consultant, CEM, BEMP, NATE, BPI, RESNET or equivalent).

*Experience working with projects striving to meet Net Zero or Net Positive performance goals is required.

*8-10 years HVAC, energy efficiency, or building science experience.

*Expertise in building diagnostics techniques, residential construction, building systems, energy auditing, and technical documentation development.

*Strong experience with building energy modeling software currently being implemented in the market (e.g. REM/Rate, BEOpt, WUFI Passive, etc.). Windows suite of Office products proficiency required.

*Extensive knowledge and experience with theoretical and practical aspects heating, cooling, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems.

*Strong knowledge and experience with ACCA Manual J, S, D, T calculations and associated software/spreadsheets required. Experience with Wrightsoft or similar software desired.

*Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience developing training materials and presentations and delivery of programs in group settings required.

*Ability to effectively communication of technical and programmatic concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

*Strong customer service and client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation.

*Ability to work independently and in a team situation.

*Ability to demonstrate involvement in projects/proposals that dealt with national/regional/industry wide technical issues. Either through involvement on committees, conference presentations, white papers, industry working groups, etc.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
